Home sick?

I’m always the leader when it comes to stepping out of your comfort zone, but I learned a lesson over the weekend that I wanted to share with you.
Since moving house in July, we have been staying at my husbands parents house to sort out our new home in Brighton. We have been here for over 4 months now due to some issues along the way with the moving process.
It’s been a good process for us to be here however we don’t have our own space and have to do things on his parents timetable, which makes sense because we live in their home so we completely accept that.
I have been ready for this new chapter for a long time and haven’t felt any sadness about leaving Swindon, which just showed me how ready I was to leave.
For the first time since our big move I’ve only recently felt a wave of sadness and a crave for the familiar, I really miss our own space and mainly our favourite italian restaurant, I wanted the mushroom risotto I used to order.
Sounds basic, but food can be a source of comfort. They have the same Italian restaurant here in Brighton so we decided to go, I ordered my favourite meal and for the time we were there I felt like I was home. I recognised in that moment, we can’t always be constantly out of our comfort zone we need to return to a few of those home comforts to recharge.
It was a way for me to fill my cup mentally, whilst dealing with our stressful move. Which I know when it finally happens will be one of the best decisions we’ll ever make.
But my point for this blog, is that being out the comfort zone is a long term benefit, which I will still continue to teach. However it’s about balance and all things in moderation.
